Prof. Dr. Alfred Hagen Meyer
He specialises in food law as well as all aspects of the law governing food contact materials, including product development, labelling, health claims, risk assessment and crisis management as well as lobbying at national and European level. Prof. Dr. Meyer's comprehensive expertise makes him a reliable point of contact for all matters relating to food law.
Since the 1995/1996 winter semester, Prof. Dr. Meyer has been teaching food law at the Institute for Food Chemistry of the Technical University of Munich as a honorary professor. Furthermore, lectureship at the University of Würzburg, Chair of Food Chemistry, Master's programme His academic achievements are evidenced by more than 300 publications, including a legal commentary on "food advertising" in Fezer (ed.), UWG - Unfair Competition Law, Commentary (C.H. Beck-Verlag).
In addition, he is editor of the Deutsche Lebensmittel Rundschau (DLR - German Food Review], member and Vice Chairman of the Joint Commission of Experts of the BVL [Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety] and the BfArM [Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices] on the Classification of Substances (borderline products, food vs. drugs) and Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Diätverband [German Dietary Association].
Prof. Dr. Meyer regularly heads German and international events and holds lectures in German and English.
